The best time of year for a busy flea market sale is Summer, but this season of outdoor recreation carries some trouble for vendors who must stand in the sun all day long. If you want to sell without succumbing to heat exhaustion or roasting red like a lobster, follow these hot weather tips for an outdoor flea market day

Hot weather and sun may invite men to pull of their shirts and women to strip down to a brief bikini. While this may help attract customers, depening on your physique, and keep you cooler than t-shirts, it can also spell disaster in the sun. Avoiding sunburn is important if you want to keep cool and comfortable at an outdoor flea market. Wear a loose-fitting white or pale color shirt and a hat to deal with the heat. Lightweight shorts are a good idea as well.

Slather sunscreen with a high enough SPF onto all exposed skin before you head to the outdoor flea market for a day of selling. Be sure to get your head if you are a balding man, the back of your neck, and your legs and feet if they are not protected by socks or shoes. Umbrellas to block the sun's rays are a great help in the hot summer months. Be sure the outdoor flea market allows their use before putting one up. Also be sure to secure it well so it does not blow over onto your or another vendor's merchandise. Handheld umbrellas in light colors also work.

Step 5
Fans are another great aid to keep cool at the flea market. Battery operated mini-fans can provide a cool breeze perfect for your face. Some include spray bottles that blow a fine mist over you. Paper, fabric, or other handheld fans can be effective at providing a slight breeze to increase comfort.
